$846K Woodfern Roof Replacement Contract Awarded In Hillsborough
The Board of Education awarded the contract at Monday night's meeting.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A new roof will soon be installed at Woodfern Elementary School in Hillsborough.
The Hillsborough Board of Education awarded a contract at its Monday night meeting to Weatherproofing Technologies of Beachwood, OH for $846,613.71.
Weatherproofing Technologies, Inc. submitted the lowest time and material pricing following a bidding process.

"We expect the work to be done over the summer while school is out and the work is expected to take 2-3 weeks to complete," said School Administrator Gerard Eckert.
The school district will cover part of the cost with state funding through their ROD (Regular Operating District) Grant that they received in September 2023

"The Grant is expected to cover up to 40 percent of the project," said Eckert.
On Sept. 7, 2023, the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) and the New Jersey Schools Development Authority (SDA) announced the approval of nearly $450 million in school construction funds for 261 school districts throughout the state.
Hillsborough Township Public Schools was awarded $407,460 from the state for the project, according to the state.
"For many years, facilities were not prioritized in Hillsborough. There are many items in need of repair. With these ROD grant funds, we will be replacing the Woodfern Elementary School roof," Hillsborough Superintendent Michael Volpe previously said in September.
