9 Arrested, Hillsborough Police Crack Down On Drunk Driving

Nine people were arrested for driving while intoxicated in the past two months.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough Police have been cracking down on drunk driving as nine people were recently arrested in the township.

Hillsborough Police Blotter:

On June 1: A 61-year-old Hillsborough man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after being stopped by police on Durham Court. He was also charged with refusal to submit breath samples, careless driving, following too closely, failure to maintain lane and failure to yield to emergency lights. He was released with a court date.

On June 5: Nathan Estime, 20, of Hillsborough was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated as a result of a motor vehicle crash on Amwell Road. He was also issued summonses for under 21 driving while intoxicated, failure to observe a traffic control device, failure to maintain lane, failure to exhibit documents, careless driving and reckless driving. He
was released with a court date.

On June 22: A 77-year-old Hillsborough woman was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after being stopped by police on Riverside Drive. She was also issued summonses for driving on a closed road and failure to maintain lane. She was released with a court date.

On June 27: A 50-year-old Hillsborough man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after being stopped by police on Beekman Lane. He was also charged with reckless driving, careless driving and failure to maintain lane. He was released with a court date.

On July 10: A 46-year-old Somerset man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle complaint on Township Line Road. He was also charged with refusal to submit breath samples. He was released with a court date.

On July 11: A 29-year-old Hillsborough man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after police received a motor vehicle complaint and stopped the vehicle on Gemini Drive. He was also issued summonses for open container in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, careless driving and failure to maintain lane. He was released with a court date.

On July 18: A 38-year-old Manville man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after police responded to a suspicious person complaint on Falcon Road. He was also charged with failure to exhibit documents. He was released with a court date.

On July 20: A 34-year-old Hillsborough man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after police received a call of an unresponsive man behind the wheel of a vehicle located at a residence on Hillsborough Road. He was also issued summonses for unlicensed driver and open container in a motor vehicle. He was released with a court date.

On July 24: A 25-year-old Roselle man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after being stopped by police in a commercial parking lot of Amwell Road. He was also charged with unlicensed driving, obstructing passage of other vehicles, failure to maintain lane, maintenance of lamps and open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. He was released with a court date.
