FRANKLIN, NJ — The Amazon empire continues to grow as they plan to open a huge distribution center in Somerset County, which will bring about 1,000 jobs.

Amazon will open a roughly 700,000 square foot facility in the Somerset section of Franklin Township at the corner of Weston Canal Road and Randolph Road. They plan to open in the first quarter of 2020, said Franklin Township Economic Development Director Vincent Dominach.

"It will be a 24-hour operation where during the normal delivery season they will have a little over 500 employed per shift and during the holiday season just over 600 employed per shift," Dominach said.
