HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Several chickens were killed following a large chicken coop fire on Tuesday.
At 9:22 a.m., Hillsborough Police and Hillsborough Fire Departments (36,37,38) were called to the fire at 16 Davenport Way.
Volunteer firefighters put out the flames.
"Nothing was suspicious on scene, and the cause is still under investigation," said Hillsborough Police Captain Scott W. Mc Carthy to Patch.
There were no injuries reported. However, several chickens were killed as the shed was being used a chicken coop, said Mc Carthy.
Hillsborough Twp Station 37 Fire is an all-volunteer organization responding to calls throughout Hillsborough Township and surrounding areas, averaging 700-800 calls per year.
