SOMERSET, NJ — A Wingstop is coming to Rutgers Plaza in Franklin Township.
The national fast-casual chain signed a 1,848-square-foot lease at the shopping center, according to Levin Management Corp.
The 268,000-square-foot property is anchored by Stop & Shop and sits at the intersection of Easton Avenue and JFK Boulevard in Somerset County.
Levin Management Corp., which serves as leasing and managing agent for Rutgers Plaza, announced the deal June 3.
The Wingstop signing is the latest in a series of recent lease transactions at the center, following deals involving MAWJ, a new coffee and espresso concept, and Bounce Air Adventure Park, according to Levin.
"Wingstop is a great addition to Rutgers Plaza's tenant mix," said Ed Vasconcellos, leasing representative at LMC. "The brand has strong consumer recognition and delivers exactly what today's diners are looking for — quality, value, and convenience. That's a win for the center and for the community it serves."
Wingstop operates more than 50 locations in New Jersey.
Founded in 1994 in Garland, Texas, the chain now has more than 3,000 locations worldwide and is known for wings, tenders, chicken sandwiches and flavored sauces.
Rutgers Plaza tenants include Crunch Fitness, Dollar Tree, Chase Bank, GNC, McDonald's and Venus Jewelers, along with other restaurant, service and convenience businesses.
Bounce Air Adventure Park is currently in development at the property.
