SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — The New Jersey Agricultural Society will hold its 2nd Annual Fall Farm-to-Table Harvest Dinner on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Carnevale Farm in Hillsborough.

The event is planned as a fundraiser and will spotlight Somerset County farms, food producers and agricultural partners.

The society said the dinner will feature an equestrian-inspired setting at the farm and a chef-curated menu built around locally sourced ingredients.

Chef Jennifer Cifelli, owner of Blawenburg Bistro, is preparing the meal, and Unionville Vineyards is the event's exclusive wine partner.

About 150 guests are expected to attend. The society said the evening will include food, local wines and conversations with local farmers while supporting its programs and initiatives.

The event is part of a dinner series that moves to a different county each year, said Stacey Kennedy, the society's executive director.

Kennedy also said the society is working with three to five farms to source meats, vegetables, grains, breads, dairy and dessert ingredients, and that those farms will be recognized during the dinner.

The New Jersey Agricultural Society was founded in 1781 and describes itself as the oldest agricultural organization of its type in the country.

The nonprofit said it works to preserve and promote New Jersey agriculture through education, leadership development and food donation programs.

Its initiatives include Farmers Against Hunger, FarmVoice Studios and the New Jersey Agricultural Leadership Development Program.

The society also identified several sponsors that have already signed on for this year's event, including Belle Meade Co-op, Suydam Farms, Riamede Farm and Duke Farms.
