Amsterdam Drive Repaving Project To Begin As Weather Warms Up
The multi-year project to repave Amsterdam Drive will be completed in three phases.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — The multi-year project to repave Amsterdam Drive is set to begin as soon as the warm weather allows but should be no later than May, announced Hillsborough Committeeman Doug Tomson.
The first phase of the project will include the portions of the roadway between Millstone River Road and Vliet Drive, said Tomson during the March 22 Committee meeting.
An engineering consultant is currently working on plans and specs for the second phase which includes Amsterdam Drive between Vliet Drive and Murphy Drive.

The plans will then be sent to New Jersey Department of Transportation for approval. Once approved, it will need to go out to bid to find a contractor.
Tomson said the Engineering Department anticipates active construction of Phase 2 will not take place until the fall of this year.

To help cover the final phase, Phase 3 (between Murphy Drive and Amwell Road), the township will file a 2023 Local Aid Grant application this year with construction planned for next year, said Tomson.
Tomson noted that all three phases will be mostly funded by NJDOT Local Aid Grants.
