Amsterdam School Student Tests Positive For Coronavirus

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — An Amesterdam Elementary School student was identified as the one new coronavirus case reported in Hillsborough on Tuesday. This brings the township total cases to nine.
The last day the student attended school was on March 13 and was found to have no known high risk exposure to COVID-19, Hillsborough officials said.
The Hillsborough Township Health Department continues to monitor all cases and is working with the State to identify any potential contacts for follow-up. A representative from the Hillsborough Township Health Department will reach out to all individuals determined to have been in close contact with the positive testing persons within 24 to 48 hours of each case being confirmed.

Murphy said the state also had among its highest number of new cases in one day, with 846 additional positive tests and 17 more deaths. (See Related: Gov. Murphy: NJ Has Largest Coronavirus Death Toll In One Day)

New Jersey now has 3,675 positive cases – the second largest in country – and 44 deaths.
