Fatal Multiple Car Crash In Hillsborough Under Investigation

The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office is investigating after one person was killed in the crash on Amwell Road on Thursday morning.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Authorities are investigating a fatal multi-car crash that happened on Amwell Road in Hillsborough on Thursday morning.

On Oct. 20 at around 6:30 a.m., Hillsborough Police were called to the area of Marshall Road and Amwell Road for an accident, said Somerset County Prosecutor John McDonald.

Officers found one person died as a result of the crash.

As a result, members of the Somerset County Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team (C.A.R.T.) responded to investigate along with members of the Hillsborough Police Department.

During the investigation, Amwell Road was closed in both directions between Beekman and Raider Boulevard for about five hours. It has since reopened.

The investigation is currently ongoing pending the results of the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team’s findings. The New Jersey Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has been notified.

Authorities have not released the identity of the fatality.
