The Arc of Somerset County Adult Program Hosts "Arc's Got Talent"

Hillsborough, NJ: The Arc of Somerset County Adult Services Program hosted “The Arc’s Got Talent” a performance talent show on November 9th, 2018. The event was a partnership between The Arc, Immaculata High School students, and “Becca’s Friends” – a ministry group based out of St. Joseph’s Parish of Hillsborough. Talented adults served by The Arc of Somerset County as well as a variety of Arc staff came to perform a variety of songs, dances and musical compositions. Students from Immaculata High School had been making props during the month of October while Immaculata’s student Isabelle LaRoche helped the performers learn the melody for “Going to the Chapel,” while visiting their group home in Bridgewater for her fall service learning program after school.

“I came home from the Arc talent show, wanting to thank those who chose me for this project. I was tearing up during a lot of it, because it was so amazing,“ says Isabelle LaRoche.

Karen Zielinski Kowalski MPH, OTR, Director of Adult Services thanks “ the ‘Prop Masters’ group of students for the beautiful props and for recommending Isabelle LaRoche to assist with vocal training Based upon the experience that Isabelle had, the LaRoche family would like to be involved in volunteerism at The Arc of Somerset County in the near future. What a great gift.”

The Arc of Somerset County provides quality services and advocacy for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families to support development and achievement at every stage of life.
