Armed Men In Ski Masks Rob, Injure Homeowner In Somerset County Invasion

The invaders broke in through the garage. Authorities are trying to figure out a motive and the suspects' identification.

FRANKLIN, NJ — A trio of men armed with handguns and wearing ski masks broke into a home in Somerset County on April 30 where they robbed and injured homeowner before running away, said Acting Somerset County Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart.

The home invasion happened on Saturday, April 30 at around 12:34 a.m. at a home in the area of Cedar Grove Lane in Franklin Township, said authorities.

The homeowner said the three unidentified men were armed with handguns and wearing ski masks and gloves.

The men forced their way into the home through the garage before demanding money from the homeowner. The homeowner turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspects who then ran away, said police.

The homeowner had minor injuries from the robbery and was medically treated on scene, said police.

Detectives from the Franklin Township Police Department and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit are investigating and trying to identify a motive and the suspect(s) identification.
