Army Vet, Police Corporal Polizzi To Lead 2026 Hillsborough Memorial Day Commemoration
The township's Memorial Day program on May 23 includes a breakfast, parade and ceremony at the Garden of Honor.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough Township Police Corporal and Army veteran Frank Polizzi will serve as grand marshal of Hillsborough’s 2026 Memorial Day Commemoration Ceremony on May 23.
Mayor Catherine Payne announced the designation at the March 24 Township Committee meeting.
Polizzi served in the United States Army from 2011 to 2019. He transitioned between Active Duty and Reserve while attaining the rank of Sergeant. During that time, he served as a Civil Affairs Specialist with the 95th Civil Affairs Brigade and a Chemical Operations Specialist with the 411th Chemical Company.

Polizzi balanced responsibilities in CBRN defense readiness with civil-military operations. His expertise was applied during a deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, where he served as a liaison between U.S. forces and local authorities.
"Hillsborough is proud to honor Corporal Polizzi for his outstanding service to this Township and to the United States of America," said Committeeman and Parks and Recreation Liaison, Robert Britting, Jr.

The township’s Memorial Day Commemorative Program will begin with the Salute to Military Service Breakfast at the Peter J. Biondi Municipal Building at 7:30 a.m. on May 23.
The Memorial Day Parade will follow at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Auten and Triangle roads. The event will conclude with the ceremony at the Garden of Honor at the parade finish line.
The Salute to Military Service Breakfast will be held May 23, rain or shine. All Hillsborough military service personnel are invited to participate in the breakfast and to lead Hillsborough’s Memorial Day Parade and Commemoration Program on May 23.
Registration is required for the breakfast through the township’s Parks and Recreation website or by calling the Parks and Recreation Department at 908-369-4832.
