Auten Road Students Provide Poster Contest's Winning Entry
Poster created by Zachary Van Cleef and Noah Reeder highlights value of inclusive education.
Artwork created by a pair of Auten Road School students will be displayed at an upcoming conference for educators focused on including disabled students in regular classroom activities.
The students—Zachary Van Cleef and Noah Reeder—created a poster which was selected for the first prize in the NJ Coalition for Inclusive Education's poster contest after art teacher Marissa Marton submitted it.
The artwork created was entered into Category IV: A collaborative effort by two students, one of whom has a disability. There were over 650 entries and Zachary and Noah's piece won first place.

Their artwork will be exhibited at the NJICE’s Summer Inclusion Conference 2013, which will be held at The College of New Jersey on June 26 and 27.
The posters will also be exhibited at the New Jersey Department of Education building in Trenton and the headquarters of the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association in Monroe during the 2013-2014 school year.
Zachary and Noah's colorful drawing is a self-portrait showing the two of them, sitting side-by-side drawing a large picture together in art class. In creation and execution, this poster demonstrates what inclusion is all about. The two boys came up with the poster idea together and worked on it during their recess time.
