Bacteria Delays Colonial Park Spray Park Opening
The newly constructed Colonial Park Spray Park's opening continues to be delayed — this time for bacteria issues.

SOMERSET, NJ — The Colonial Park Spray Park's opening continues to be delayed — this time for bacteria issues, county officials said.
"Unfortunately, water test sampling results over the course of the last two weeks have revealed bacterial exceedances," Somerset County Park Commission said on Thursday. "Commission staff has worked tremendously hard to correct the water quality, but the results have not been favorable."
Results from another water test is expected to come back this week.

The spray park most recently been slated to open on Aug. 1, however the Commission was waiting to receive the final state environmental approval before opening the spray park.
This isn't the first time the park was delayed. Last year, the park opening was delayed until the spring due to delays in permitting. In April the parks commission again delayed the opening when they replaced the contractor due to “disputes over the quality of Abraham Construction’s work, the timeliness of the work and other issues," according to the Franklin Reporter.
