Careless Driver With Kids In Car Causes Head-On Route 206 Crash: Cops

A Hillsborough driver was charged and a 6-year-old who reportedly didn't have a seat belt suffered a broken leg: Police.

MONTGOMERY, NJ — A Hillsborough woman with a 6 and 10 year old in the car was charged with careless driving after she passed cars on the shoulder of Route 206, crossed into oncoming traffic and crashes head-on in Montgomery, said police.

On March 3 at 2:46 p.m., Montgomery Police and Montgomery EMS went to Route 206 between Montgomery Road and Sycamore Lane for a motor vehicle crash with injuries.

A police investigation found Oksana Semyrozum, 43, of Hillsborough was driving southbound on Route 206 in a 2015 Toyota Prius, passing traffic along the shoulder, said Montgomery Police.

When she tried to re-enter the lane of travel, she hit the front passenger side corner of a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder, which was being driven by John A. Horton, 47, of Hillsborough, said police.

This caused Semyrozum to cross over the centerline and go into oncoming traffic, where she crashed head-on with a northbound 2018 Toyota Tacoma, being driven by Desiree Leboeuf, 49, of Canton, NY, said police.

Semyrozum and her front seat passenger, Alex Kuzmin, 43, of Hillsborough, suffered upper body injuries.

A 6-year-old backseat passenger sustained a suspected broken leg. The 10-year-old backseat passenger was uninjured.

The occupants of the Prius were taken to Robert Wood Johnson Univerity Hospital-New Brunswick for treatment.

Leboeuf and her 46-year-old passenger, Anna Sorensen of Canton, NY, sustained bodily injuries.
They were taken to Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center for treatment. Horton was not injured.

Semyrozum was issued several summonses, including improper passing, careless driving, and failure to have the 6-year-old secured in a child passenger safety seat. She is due to appear in Court.

The roadway was closed for around 3 hours for a scene investigation. Anyone with additional information regarding the crash is asked to contact Officer Tim Giaccone at 908-359-3222.
