Ceiling Collapse, Snowplow Fire, DWI Arrest Reported In Montgomery

Montgomery Police released its latest blotter.

MONTGOMERY, NJ — A ceiling collapse, DWI arrest, snowplow fire, and more were reported recently in Montgomery.

Montgomery Police Blotter:

On Jan. 19 at 9:13 p.m.: Montgomery Police and Montgomery EMS responded to Great Road near
Inverness Drive for a motor vehicle crash. Police determined the driver, a 55-year-old Skillman
resident, was driving south on Great Road in a 2025 Alfa Romeo. The driver experienced a medical
emergency, resulting in the vehicle crossing over the northbound travel lane, leaving the roadway, and hitting a tree. The driver and a passenger were evaluated and treated at the scene by Montgomery EMS.

On Jan. 21 at 12:43 p.m.: Montgomery Police, Montgomery Fire Company 2 and Rocky Hill Fire Company responded to an Evert Court residence for a reported ceiling collapse in the residence. It was determined that a water leak inside the residence caused the ceiling to partially collapse. There were no injuries as a result.

On Jan. 21 at 4:19 p.m.: Montgomery Police responded to Princeton Self Storage for a disorderly person. An employee reported a man cursed at her after she asked if the person needed help. The person then left the location before the police arrived.

On Jan. 23 at 3:18 a.m.: Montgomery Police and Montgomery EMS responded to Route 601 near Grandview Road for a motor vehicle crash. Police determined Jonathan Peritz, 35, of Hillsborough, was driving south on Route 601 and hit the concrete island near the railroad crossing, resulting in the vehicle crossing the northbound lane, coming to rest in the ditch along the roadway. Peritz reported losing control after driving over ice. Police did not see any ice on the roadway and determined the crash was due to driver inattention and failure to maintain the travel lane. Peritz was evaluated by Montgomery EMS. Police issued Peritz motor vehicle citations for careless driving and failure to maintain lane.

On Jan. 25 at 4:31 p.m.: Montgomery Police, Montgomery EMS, Montgomery Fire Company Number 2, and Rocky Hill Fire Company responded to Copper Vail Court for a vehicle fire. A Montgomery Township Public Works truck caught fire during snowplowing operations. The fire was extinguished, and the driver did not report any injuries. The Montgomery Township Fire Marshall responded to investigate.

On Jan. 30 at 9:11 p.m.: Officer Stratton stopped a vehicle on Meadow Run Drive after seeing the vehicle not having illuminated rear lights. Stratton determined the driver, Kathleen Cordier, 39 of Skillman, had consumed alcoholic beverages before driving the vehicle. Cordier was subsequently arrested and taken to Montgomery Township Police Department Headquarters for processing. Cordier was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, maintenance of lamps and open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Cordier was released and is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Municipal Court.
