Celebrating 1776–2026: A Milestone in American History

In a dual celebration of American heritage and local community spirit, Scout Troop 1776 is launching a community-wide American flag sale, just in time to mark the nation’s 250th anniversary. The Hillsborough-based troop is offering high-quality, 3’x5’ American-made flags for $45, featuring durable, colorfast nylon and embroidered stars.

Inspired by their own eponymous troop number, the Scouts are spearheading this initiative to honor both the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary and the 25th anniversary of September 11.

As part of their commitment to proper flag etiquette, Troop 1776 will accept old or worn-out flags for respectful retirement when residents pick up their new replacement flags.

Orders can be placed online at https://bsa1776.org through April 1. Flags will be available for pickup around May 1, allowing families to display the Stars and Stripes throughout the spring and summer seasons.
