Cheaper by the Dozen at Someret Valley Players

Hillsborough's community theatre presenting comedy based on real life New Jersey family with 12 children.

Hillsborough, NJ – The next production of the Somerset Valley Players, Hillsborough’s award-winning, nonprofit community theatre, is the comedy, Cheaper by The Dozen, opening on Friday, July 20.

Directed Chris Russoniello, Cheaper by the Dozen is based on a memoir written by two members of the Frank and Lillian Gilbreth family. The Gilbreths were noted innovators in the field of industrial efficiency and the parents of 12 children. They resided in Montclair, NJ in the 1920s. The comedy centers on the efforts of their eldest daughter, Anne, to become an independent teenager despite two quirky parents and 11 siblings.

Produced by Karen and Dominick Abbatiello, the stage manager is Harriet Trainor.
