Crashed Car Found With Bullet Holes In Somerset County, Police Investigate Shooting
One passenger in the car was injured from the crash and taken to a hospital. The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office is now investigating.
FRANKLIN, NJ — Authorities are investigating a shooting where gunshots were fired at a car that also crashed in Franklin Township, said authorities.
On Oct. 24 at around 9:09 p.m., Franklin Township Police officers were called to the area of Matilda Avenue in Franklin Township for a report of gunshots fired and a vehicle crash.
Officers found a vehicle that crashed into a local business in the area, said Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives Francisco Roman Jr., and Franklin Township Public Safety Director Quovella M. Maeweather.

A passenger in the vehicle, an adult man from Franklin Township, sustained injuries from the crash and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment with non-life-threatening injuries.
Franklin Patrol Officers saw gunshot damage on the vehicle that crashed. No injuries were reported to be sustained as a result of the shots fired, said McDonald.

Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene along with detectives from the Franklin Township Police Department to investigate.
A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
