Deer Protecting Her Baby Attacks Resident In Hillsborough

The woman had minor injuries as a result, said police.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A Hillsborough resident was attacked on Thursday by a deer while walking in the township.

On June 1 at 10:22 a.m., while walking their dog in the area of Huntsman Lane, a resident was approached by a fawn and an adult deer, said Hillsborough Police Lt. Scott Mc Carthy.

When the resident got close to the adult deer it kicked at the resident, said Mc Carthy.

The resident received minor injuries and declined medical treatment. The deer and fawn were no longer on the scene once police officers arrived.

Mc Carthy said the attack "sounds like the deer was protecting the fawn."
