Dog Walker Stabbed In The Back, Hillsborough Man Charged: Police
Safi N. Hill, 23, of Hillsborough, was charged with attempted murder in relation to the afternoon stabbing on May 4.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A Hillsborough man was charged with attempted murder after police say he stabbed a man walking his dog in the back in the middle of the afternoon.
Safi N.Hill, 23, of Equator Avenue in Hillsborough, was charged with first-degree attempted murder, third-degree hindering apprehension and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
On May 4 at around 2 pm. a man called 911 and said he was attacked unprovoked while walking his dog in the area of 9th Street and Clawson Avenue, said acting Somerset County Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart.

The man said he had been punched in the back by the assailant but Hillsborough Police Officers found that the victim was bleeding from suspected stab wounds on his back, said Taggart.
The victim, a Hillsborough adult man, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Hill was identified as the man involved in the stabbing following an investigation by detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Hillsborough Township Police Department.
On May 4, Hill was taken into custody without incident at his home. He was charged and then taken to the Somerset County Jail pending a bail detention hearing in this matter.
