Downed Trees, Poles Close Montgomery Road In Hillsborough

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — High winds continue to cause havoc in the township. Two downed trees and two downed poles have caused Montgomery Road to close in Hillsborough

Montgomery Road is closed between Amwell Road and Wertsville Road as of 3 p.m., the township said in an alert.

Arcing wires and a downed tree have also caused 3 Bridges Road to close between Hockenbury Road and Woodfern Road.

Flooding has also caused Griggstown Causeway to close in the area.

Power outages are also rising in the area with PSE&G reporting more than 500 without power in Somerset County. The majority are reported in Montgomery and Franklin.

JCP&L is also reporting 150 customers without power including 99 in Bernardsville and 22 in Hillsborough.
