Driver Dies After Car Crashes Off Bridge Into Brook In Somerset County
Authorities found the unconscious driver trapped in the vehicle that was partially submerged in the Pike Brook on Friday afternoon.
MONTGOMERY, NJ — A driver is dead after a car went off a bridge and into a brook in Montgomery on Friday afternoon, Montgomery Police said.
On Aug. 25 at around 12:46 p.m., a report of a motor vehicle crash into the water in the area of Belle Mead Griggstown Road and Pike Run Road was reported.
While on Belle Mead Griggstown Road, at the Pike Brook Bridge, police found a black 2004 Lexus, off the bridge and partially submerged in the brook, police said.

Officers went into the water and found the unconscious driver trapped in the vehicle. They worked to free the driver of the vehicle, and with the help of Montgomery EMS 47 and Montgomery Volunteer Fire Co # 1, they were able to pull the driver to safety.
Paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, and Montgomery EMS took the driver to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
