Drug, DWI, Theft Arrests Made In Montgomery

Montgomery Police arrested multiple people for drug possession, driving while intoxicated, theft and outstanding warrants recently.

MONTGOMERY, NJ — Montgomery Police arrested multiple people for drug possession, driving while intoxicated, theft and outstanding warrants recently.

Montgomery Police Blotter:

On March 15 at 9:18 a.m.: Brandon R. Tyler, 33, of East Windsor, was stopped in the area of Blue Spring Road and County Route 605 River Road. During the stop, Tyler was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested, and taken to Montgomery Police Headquarters for processing. At headquarters, Tyler was charged with possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. He is due to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.

On March 8 at 10:53 a.m.: Montgomery Police and Montgomery EMS responded to Burnt Hill Road near the intersection of Westbury Court for the report of an overturned vehicle. On arrival police found a 2016 Buick Encore resting on its driver side partially off Burnt Hill Road. The driver, a 17-year-old resident of Skillman, was able to remove herself through the rear tailgate of the vehicle. The driver reported she was traveling south on Burnt Hill Road when she went to change the song on her stereo and her vehicle left the travel portion of the right side of the roadway. The driver’s vehicle struck and rode up a snow bank and rolled onto its driver side. The vehicle was towed from the scene as a result of the crash. The driver received a motor vehicle summons for failing to maintain a lane and is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court. The driver was transported to Princeton Medical Center at Plainsboro with non-life threatening injuries.

On March 8: A Montgomery Township resident reported his credit stolen and noticed two suspicious charges, at area businesses, charged to his credit card account totaling nearly $425. Detectives conducted a follow-up investigation on March 9, reviewing surveillance video with the local businesses where the stolen credit card was used. Detectives immediately recognized the individual using the credit card as Justine Dannelly, 47, of Rocky Hill. Detectives located Dannelly at her residence and recovered the items she purchased using the stolen credit card. Dannelly was charged with theft by deception and released on her own recognizance. Dannelly’s case will be heard in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.

On March 6 at 12:09 p.m.: Jose R. Pantoja Jr., 35, of Tampa, Florida was a passenger in a 2017 Jeep that was stopped on Cedar Lane. During the stop, Pantoja Jr. was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested, and taken to Montgomery Township Police Headquarters for processing. At headquarters, Pantoja Jr. was charged with possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. He is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.

On March 6 at 8:49 a.m.: Montgomery Police responded to Rt. 206 near Harlingen Road for a three car motor vehicle crash. Police determined Garrett Sleyster, 26, of Gladstone was traveling south on Route 206 when he struck the rear of a GMC Sierra operated by Kurt Alstede, 53, of Chester. Alstede’s vehicle was pushed forward into the rear of a Land Rover operated by Cabilia Pichardo, 59, of Oxford. Sleyster reported he was following Alstede’s vehicle too closely and could not stop in time when Alstede’s vehicle slowed for traffic. There were no injuries reported. Sleyster’s vehicle was towed as a result of the crash and he received a summons for tailgating and operating with an expired license and is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.

On Feb. 24 at 11:21 p.m.: Montgomery Township Police Officers were conducting a business check at the Bedens Brook Country Club. Officers made contact with a group of individuals in the parking lot after hours. A. Papanicolaou, 18, of Skillman, was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, as well as alcohol underage. A 17-year-old female was also found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Both individuals were arrested and taken to Montgomery Township Police Headquarters for processing. They were each charged and released.

On Feb. 24 at approximately 6 p.m.: William Getz, 56, of Bridgewater was arrested for driving while intoxicated. A motorist reported a possible intoxicated driver and provided a vehicle description matching the vehicle operated by Getz. Officer Devlin located Getz on Oriole Lane which is in the area where the call was received and determined that Getz had been drinking. Officer Balinski assisted with sobriety examinations and Getz was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Getz was arrested and transported to Montgomery Township Police Headquarters for arrest processing. Getz was released to a friend and is scheduled to appear in the Montgomery Township Municipal Court.

On Feb. 24 at 12:08 a.m.: Ricardo Barrios, 25, of Princeton, was stopped and during the stop, Barrios was found to be in possession of marijuana. He was arrested, and taken to Montgomery Township Police Headquarters for processing. At headquarters, Barrios was charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance (CDS), and issued motor vehicle summonses. He was released, and is due to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.

On Feb. 23 at approximately 2:15 p.m.: Kevin Kolans, 51, of Hillsborough was arrested for possession of marijuana. Kolans was stopped for equipment violations and during the stop Sgt. Gray detected an odor of marijuana coming from the passenger compartment of the car. Kolans was searched and a smoking pipe was found in his pocket containing suspect marijuana. Kolans was transported to Montgomery Township Police Headquarters for arrest processing. Kolans was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. Kolans was issued traffic tickets for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, headlamps required, and failure to inspect. Kolans was released pending an appearance in the Montgomery Township Municipal Court.

On Feb. 21 at 2:05 a.m.: Officer Gonzalez stopped a 2007 Honda on Rt. 206. During the stop, Officer Gonzalez detected the odor of marijuana. The vehicle’s passenger, Kevin Morales, 24, of Manville, was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested, and taken to Montgomery Police Headquarters for processing. Morales was charged with possession of CDS and drug paraphernalia, and released. He is due to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.

On Feb. 19 at approximately 09:15 a.m.: Sgt. Gray made a traffic stop for a seatbelt violation on Montgomery Road. Kristopher Cartagena, 29, of Trenton was subsequently arrested for an outstanding traffic warrant from Lawrence Township in the amount of $772. Cartagena was arrested and transported to Montgomery Township Police Headquarters where he posted bail for outstanding warrants and was issued a traffic ticket for failure to wear a seatbelt.

On Feb. 15 at approximately 11:30 p.m.: Amory Hare, 26, of Princeton was arrested by Officer Parlow during a traffic stop. Hare was pulled over on Belle Mead Griggstown Road after he was observed failing to stop at a stop sign. When Hare was producing his documents it was determined that he had an amount of suspected marijuana in his glove compartment. Hare was transported to Montgomery Township Police Headquarters for arrest processing. Hare was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and issued traffic tickets for failure to stop and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Hare was released pending a court appearance at the Montgomery Township Municipal Court.

On Feb. 14 at approximately 8:30 p.m.: Mostafa Salem, 32, of Edison was arrested by Officer Parlow during a traffic stop. Salem was pulled over on East Mountain Road after he was observed to have inoperable brake lamps. Salem was found to have approximately $3,900 in outstanding traffic warrants from Hazlet, East Brunswick, Edison, and Rahway Municipal Courts. Salem was processed at Montgomery Township Police Headquarters where he posted bail and was issued traffic tickets for driving with a suspended license and maintenance of lamps.
