Drunk Driving, Marijuana Possession Arrests Made In Montgomery

Montgomery Police reported arresting four people for charges such as driving while intoxicated and marijuana possession.

MONTGOMERY, NJ — Montgomery Police reported arresting four people for charges such as driving while intoxicated and marijuana possession, according to the blotter.

Montgomery Police Blotter:

On Sept. 21 at 10:34 p.m.: Montgomery Township Police arrested Ebony A. Hankerson, 25, of Atlantic City and Douglas V. Regan, 26, of Orlando, Florida. Montgomery Township Police Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2008 KIA Spectra with an inoperable driver side taillight that was travelling westbound on County Rt. 518. Upon making contact with the vehicle, officers detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle and subsequently arrested the driver, Hankerson, for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia and the rear seat passenger, Regan, for possession of marijuana under 50 grams. Hankerson and Regan were processed at police headquarters and released on their own recognizance pending an appearance in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.

On Sept. 17 at 9:27 p.m.: Montgomery Police responded to a disabled motor vehicle on Route 601 near Pleasant View Road. When patrols arrived it was determined to be a motor vehicle crash. During the crash investigation it was determined that the driver, Aakash Patel, 21, of Piscataway had consumed alcoholic beverages prior to driving. Patel was administered field sobriety tests and was arrested for driving while intoxicated and hindering apprehension. Patel was also found to have an active warrant out of Edison Township in the amount of $2,500. The passenger of the vehicle, Neil Patel, was also arrested and charged with hindering apprehension. Aakash Patel’s vehicle was impounded and he was released to a family member. He is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.
