DWI, Drug, Warrant Arrests Made In Montgomery
A vehicle parked at the Nassau Racquet and Tennis Club was also reportedly burglarized with a purse stolen, police report.
MONTGOMERY, NJ — Montgomery Police report making multiple arrests for marijuana possession, driving while intoxicated, outstanding warrants and more.
Montgomery Police blotter:
On Nov. 2 at about 1 p.m.: Sgt. Gray arrested Matthew Mcgregor, 23, of Matawan for possession of marijuana. Mcgregor was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over for equipment violations on Route 206 near ShopRite. Gray detected the odor of burned marijuana in the vehicle, which resulted in a search and the recovery of a bag of suspected marijuana. Mcgregor was transported to Montgomery Township Police Headquarters for arrest processing. Mcgregor was charged with failure to wear a seatbelt and possession of marijuana under 50 grams and was released pending an appearance in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.

On Oct. 30: Officer Coutinho conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 601 near Elm Road for an equipment violation at about 11:50 p.m. Coutinho made contact with the driver, Tawannala Robinson, 40, from Bristol, Pennsylvania, and passenger, Jenay Crawford, 29, from Trenton. Investigation determined both individuals had active traffic warrants. Both Robinson and Crawford were arrested and transported to headquarters for arrest processing. Both individuals were provided new court appearance dates and were then released. Robinson was issued a ticket for driving while suspended and is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.
On Oct. 30 at about 1 p.m.: Montgomery Police responded to the Nassau Racquet and Tennis Club to investigate a motor vehicle burglary. The victim reported that between about 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. someone smashed the front passenger side window of her parked Toyota. The victim reported that her purse containing various items which were not valuable were taken. That purse had been located on her front passenger seat in plain view.

On Oct. 26 at about 4 a.m.: Officer Parlow arrested Malik Thomas, 26, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. Parlow conducted a suspicious person investigation at the Princeton Montessori School. Parlow detected the odor of burned marijuana during his investigation and conducted a vehicle search. Parlow recovered burned marijuana and a smoking pipe. Thomas was transported to Montgomery Police Department for arrest processing. Thomas was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. Thomas was released pending a court appearance in the Montgomery Township Municipal Court.
On Oct. 25 at 2:29 p.m.: Montgomery Police stopped a 2007 BMW on County Route 601 for motor vehicle violations. During the stop, the driver, David R. Soriano, 18, of Clifton was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Soriano was arrested, and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released with a pending court date.
On Oct. 15 at 4:13 p.m.: Montgomery Police stopped a 2012 Mitsubishi work van for motor vehicle violation. A passenger, Eric B. Williams, 31, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was not wearing a seatbelt. During the stop, an active warrant for Williams was found for a probation violation out of Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Williams was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing. Williams was issued a summons for seat belt violation. He was then lodged in Somerset County Jail to await transfer to Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.
On Oct. 15 at 8:17 a.m.: Montgomery Police and Montgomery Fire responded to a Prairie Dunes Court residence for a motor vehicle fire in the driveway. Montgomery Township Fire units 45 and 46 responded to the scene as well as EMS unit 47. Fire personnel were able to extinguish the fire, which was mostly contained to the engine compartment of the 2015 Mercedes Benz GLK. There were no injuries reported.
On Oct. 14 at about 8:39 p.m.: Stanford H. Spencer, 69, from Belle Mead was stopped on Harlingen Road and arrested for driving while intoxicated. Officer Jesse Peterson and Officer Adam Verducci of the Montgomery Township Police Deptartment stopped Spencer on Harlingen Road. While speaking with Spencer, Peterson detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Spencer’s breath. Peterson’s investigation revealed that Spencer was operating the motor vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. This subsequently resulted in Spencer being arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, and open container of an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle. Spencer is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.
On Oct. 10 at 12:41 a.m.: Montgomery Police stopped Henry Small Jr., 33, of Dayton, after observing an equipment violation on the vehicle he was driving on Route 206. Officers detected the odor of raw marijuana and subsequently searched Small Jr.’s vehicle. Officers located raw marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside of Small Jr’s vehicle. Small Jr. was placed under arrest and processed at police headquarters. Small Jr. is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.
On Oct. 9 at 7:18 p.m.: Montgomery Police stopped Ariana McPherson, 27, of Leonia after conducting a random inquiry on her vehicle registration and learning that she had two active traffic warrants from Leonia and South Brunswick. McPherson was placed under arrest and processed at police headquarters. McPherson was released on her own recognizance.
