More Details, Victim ID'd In Crash That Killed 91-Year-Old Wife
The Somerset couple were leaving their driveway when they collided with a 2015 Jeep Wrangle driven by a Hillsborough local, police report.

SOMERSET, NJ — The wife of an elderly Somerset couple was killed following a car crash in the township on Wednesday.
Richard Manzo and his wife Catherine Manzo, both 91, of Somerset were leaving their driveway at 49 Veronica Ave. inside their 2004 Toyota Camry when they collided with a 2015 Jeep Wrangler at 4:53 p.m., Franklin Township Police report.
The Jeep, driven by Nabil A. Said, 45, of Hillsborough was driving southbound on Veronica Avenue with two children when the crash occurred.

The Toyota suffered heavy driver’s side damage causing Richard Manzo to become entrapped inside and was suffering from chest and hip injuries, responding officers reported.
The passenger, Catherine was found unconscious and unresponsive. Firefighters responded to extricate both of them.

Lifesaving efforts were performed on Catherine before both Manzos were transported to a local trauma center by EMS personnel.
Catherine was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. The cause of death will be determined after an autopsy is conducted by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, police report.
Said and his two children refused medical assistance at the scene.
The Franklin Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau responded to the scene to conduct the investigation. Veronica Avenue was closed for several hours during the investigation and subsequent clean up.
