Emergency Blood Shortage Drive To Be Held In Somerset County

Currently, the American Red Cross​ has less than a three-day supply. Those who donate will receive a $5 Amazon gift card​.

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — Blood drives will be held in Somerset County to help address the current emergency blood shortage. Additionally those who donate will receive a $5 Amazon gift card.

Currently, the American Red Cross has less than a three-day supply of most blood types available and less than a two-day supply of type O blood.

  • Basking Ridge: Aug. 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at St. James Roman Catholic Church, at 184 S. Finley Ave.
  • Far Hills: Aug. 2 from 2 to 7 p.m., Far Hills-Bedminster First Aid Squad, 500 Route 202
  • Raritan: Aug. 11 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Catholic Church of St. Ann, 45 Anderson St..
  • Somerset: Aug. 12 from 3 to 8 p.m., The Harrison, 575 Easton Ave.
  • Somerset: Aug. 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Aon, 400 Atrium Drive
  • Warren: Aug. 4 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Stonecrest Community Church, 11 Technology Drive

Individuals can schedule an appointment to donate now by activating Amazon’s Alexa Red Cross Blood Skill by saying, "Alexa, find a blood drive," or by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org, or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
