'Make Sit Happen, LLC.' presents Therapy Dog and Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Class

Sign up to join the 'Make Sit Happen' COMBINED Canine Good Citizen & Therapy Dog class, where you can earn both the CGC and TD certifications! You and your dog will learn the skills necessary to help you pass both of these tests. Please note that participation in the class assumes that your dog has already completed a Basic Obedience class and is at least one year old (for the Therapy Dog portion), and that you have owned the dog for at least 6 months.

The class costs $180.00, which includes testing fees. This is a 5 week class with the 6th week designated for administering the test(s). You do not have to take both tests – you can take one or the other, or both!

The CGC portion of the class focuses on obtaining the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen certification, and is recommended for anyone who would like to be recognized for their skills with their obedient dog! Your dog does NOT have to be a pure breed – just a ‘Canine Good Citizen’. Criteria for passing the 10-step AKC CGC test can be found at http://www.akc.org/events/cgc/training_testing.cfm.

The Therapy Dog portion of the class is given in conjunction with the CGC class, as the test encompasses SOME similar skills learned for each certifications. Your dog will become familiar with walkers, wheelchairs, canes, crutches, loud noises, crowds, unpredictable circumstances and other distractions! We also discuss the ins and outs of therapy visits, what YOUR role and responsibility is during the visits, rules and regulations, insurance, how to handle unpredictable situations and more.

TO RESERVE YOUR SPOT: Send an e-mail with your first and last name, your dog's name, age and breed, and your phone number, stating that you'd like to participate in the class. We will send a confirmation e-mail, which will include the Registration form and further instructions! SHOW OFF YOUR DOG'S SKILLS AND ALSO 'GIVE BACK' - you'll be glad you did!
