Fire Ignites After Fallen Tree Limb Knocks Down Power Line In Montgomery
The fire had spread to a neighbor's lawn when authorities arrived on Wednesday.
MONTGOMERY, NJ — A field fire that spread to a neighbor's lawn was found to be sparked by a fallen tree limb on Wednesday in Montgomery, said police.
On March 15 at around 3:10 p.m., the Montgomery Township Police Department,
Montgomery Township Volunteer Fire Department No. 1, Montgomery Township Volunteer
Fire Department No. 2, and Montgomery Emergency Medical Services were called to a report of
a field fire at a home on Pin Oak Road, said Montgomery Police Lt. Tom Frascella.
Authorities found the fire spread to a neighboring lawn across the street. The Montgomery Volunteer Fire Departments extinguished the fire.

An investigation found that a falling tree limb knocked down a power line that ignited the field, said Frascella.
The fire spread quickly due to the wind conditions.

PSE&G was called and Pin Oak Road was closed to traffic until the scene was determined to be safe for the public.
