Family Dog Trapped, Dies In Hillsborough House Fire
Two of the residents were transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries after a fire at their home on Friday night.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A family dog was trapped and later found dead following a house fire on Friday night in Hillsborough, police report.
The fire was reported at a family home at 5 Wolfe Drive on Dec. 14 at 5:15 p.m. where authorities saw fire and smoke coming from the second floor of the home when they arrived, Hillsborough Police Sgt. Jim Omert said.
The fire was extinguished in about one hour by firefighters. The family dog was trapped in the home and was found dead by firefighters, Omert said.

Two of the residents were transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. A third resident was treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries.
"District fire units did a phenomenal job mounting an aggressive attack and along with second alarm mutual aid units were able to contain the fire itself to two bedrooms on the second floor," Station 37 Fire reported.

This incident remains under investigation by Hillsborough Township Police Department
