Giovannucci's son Jakob Herring was luckily not home at the time and her ex-husband was able to escape. Their two cats Kitty and Zeus were also able to escape through an open door. However, they have not been seen since.

The family lost everything in the fire and is now living in a rental across the street while the home is rebuilt. Giovannucci said her son is happy to be close by in case Kitty and Zeus return.

"He is very upset. He loves those cats to death. We are not giving up. We have spent so much money with traps and cameras and animal communicators," said Giovannucci.

Kitty is a 5-year-old all-dark Tabby, with only a small amount of white around her mouth. She is very afraid of everything.

Zeus is an 11-year-old orange tabby with white on his belly.

Giovannucci even sent out a PawBoost alert to neighbors hoping to find their beloved kitties.

"We have been searching and looking in the middle of the night and all day," said Giovannucci. "We just want to get them back."

Through speaking with a cat psychic, Giovannucci has come to believe Kitty may have been taken in by a Good Samaritan.

Anyone with information on Kitty or Zeus is asked to contact Giovannucci at 908-295-5174.
