Fatal Hit-And-Run In Somerset County, Police Ask Public For Help
A 50-year-old New Brunswick woman was fatally hit by a vehicle while crossing Somerset St. The Prosecutor's Office is looking for witnesses.
FRANKLIN, NJ — Authorities are asking the public for help with an investigation into a fatal hit-and-run crash with a pedestrian in Somerset County.
On Tuesday, Feb. 22 at around 8:29 p.m., a 911 call reported a woman was hit by a vehicle while crossing Somerset Street near High Street in Franklin Township, according to Acting Somerset County Prosecutor Thomas Chirichella.
The driver of the vehicle, which was heading southbound on Somerset Street, fled the scene after hitting the woman, said Chirichella.

The woman, who was identified as Treasa M. Daye-Fennie, 50, of New Brunswick, who was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene, said Chirichella.
The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART) along with members from the Franklin Township Police Department, detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, and the New Jersey Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office all went to the scene to investigate.

Anyone with information relating to this fatal hit-and-run is asked to contact the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit at 908-231-7100 or the Franklin Township Police Department at 732-873-5533 or via the STOPit app.
