Fire Heavily Damages House In Montgomery

Along with Montgomery, fire departments from Hillsborough, Griggstown, Rocky Hill, and Princeton, all came out to help battle the blaze.

MONTGOMERY, NJ — An early morning fire left a single-family home in Montgomery heavily damaged on Thursday.

On Feb. 23 at 3:47 a.m., Montgomery Police were called to the report of a structure fire on Rolling Hill Road.

When police arrived they saw flames showing through the roof, said Montgomery Police Lt. Tom Frascella.

Police tried to force open the front door of the home but were met with heavy smoke and flames, said Frascella.

An investigation found the home was vacant.

Montgomery 45 Fire, Montgomery 46 Fire, and Rocky Hill Fire Department arrived to begin to battle the blaze.

Fire Command requested more help at the scene. Mutual aid from Hillsborough Fire Co. No 1, Hillsborough Woods Road Fire No. 3, Griggstown Vol. Fire Company Station 35, and Princeton Fire Department arrived.

Montgomery EMS 47 also responded to the scene and provided Rehab.

The home sustained heavy fire damage to the second floor and roof. Montgomery Police Detectives and Montgomery Fire Inspectors are conducting a fire investigation.
