Hillsborough fire departments responded early Friday morning as the fire rekindled at the VA Depot where a massive blaze occurred last month

Hillsborough, NJ -- The location of the massive warehouse fire last month rekindled again on Friday morning -- and this wasn't the first time.

"This was the sixth or eighth time," said Hillsborough Chief Fire Marshal Chris Weniger.

Flagtown Fire Department reported on Facebook responding to the Veteran’s Administration Industrial Park in the north end of Route 206 in Hillsborough at 4:54 a.m. March 11 to assist 37 Fire with a large rekindle.

Ladder 36 and Car 36 also responded and set up for aerial operations.

This was the same location where a huge fire broke out exactly one month from today on Feb. 11. The fire raged on for days calling for more than 30 fire companies from at least five different counties across the state and more than 200 emergency vehicles to help out on the scene.

The rubble with embers buried underneath has been reignited the fire each time, Weginer said.

"There are lots of lots of partially burned plastic," Weginer said."

An insurance company is currently investigating the scene which has prevented it from being cleaned up but Weginer was hoping to urge them to hurry up to prevent future fires.

Most of the repeat fires were small but the fire Friday morning took a little longer to extinguish. All units cleared the scene at 5:57 a.m.
