Trapped Somerset Driver Rescued As Firefighters Pry Open Door In Crash

The Somerset woman was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following the crash on Monday.

MONTGOMERY, NJ — Montgomery Firefighters pried open a car door to rescue a trapped driver in a Monday morning crash.

On Jan. 31 at 9:58 a.m., a two-vehicle crash with injuries was reported in the area of River Road (County Route 533) south of Staats Farm Road, said Montgomery Police Lt. Silvio Bet.

Daniel Magrini, 50, of Hillsborough, was driving a 2018 Chevy Silverado north on River Road when a 2012 Nissan driven by Hawa Nabieu, 37, of Somerset, backed out of a private driveway into the roadway, said Bet.

Mangrini's truck hit the Nissan on the driver’s door in the northbound lane. As a result, Montgomery Fire Company #1 helped to remove the driver’s door to allow emergency responders to get to Nabieu, said Bet.

Nabieu was then taken to St. Peters Hospital in New Brunswick with non-life-threatening injuries.
