Flags For Heroes: Honoring Veterans, Service Members In Hillsborough
Flags will flutter on the front lawn of the Municipal Complex in November, as the township honors veterans and active service members.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ —This Veteran's Day, the front lawn of Hillsborough Township's Municipal Building will again be transformed into a Field of Honor to honor veterans and active military members.
"Flags for Heroes" is a national initiative to fly American flags in local towns, as a mark of respect and appreciation for those who have served.
The Rotary Club of Hillsborough is offering Township residents the opportunity to honor vets with flags as a way to commemorate their sacrifice and heroism, through their local Flags for Heroes fundraiser.

A portion of the proceeds are donated to Hillsborough veterans, and to support the community through Rotary projects and grants to organizations.
Residents who wish to sponsor flags for the veterans in their lives can do so for $50 each. The 3-foot by 5-foot flags hang on 10-foot poles and will be on display on the corner of South Branch Road and Beekman Lane from Nov. 5 through Nov. 19, 2023.

A dedication ceremony featuring Township officials and special guests on Veterans Day will be held directly adjacent to the field of honor, the Rotary Club said.
