Flash Flood Watch Issued For Somerset County
Localized rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is likely tonight as a line of intense thunderstorms is expected to move into the region.

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch is in effect for Somerset County from 4 p.m. Tuesday through 2 a.m. Wednesday.
Localized rainfall of one to three inches is likely during this time as a line of intense thunderstorms is expected to move into the region from the northwest late this afternoon and this evening, according to the NWS.
Adding this to the rainfall received this past weekend, flash flooding may occur and effect roadways, streams and creeks, and areas with poor drainage.

Today: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 4 p.m. Some of the storms could be severe. High near 88. Southwest wind 6 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8 p.m. Some of the storms could be severe. Low around 61. Light and variable wind becoming northeast 5 to 7 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Wednesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 a.m., then a chance of showers between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 67. East wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Wednesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Patchy fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 56. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Thursday: A chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 77. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Thursday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Patchy fog after 2 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 58. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Friday: Showers likely. Patchy fog before 8 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 64. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
Friday Night: Showers. Patchy fog. Low around 53. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
