Flemington Fabric Celebrates Main St Legacy

May 25, 2016, Flemington, NJ - Hometown favorite Flemington Fabric Decorating Center, which has graced Main Street since 1948 continues to add to the charm and legacy of small town America. The quaint shop has all the attributes of a long-standing business that tends to the art of their craft. With the ever-present big chain stores, Flemington Fabric owner Marie Kristoff prides herself on the design esthetic that she creates along with the workmanship of the end result.

Opening up on Main Street, Flemington in 1948, Marie and her husband Gary purchased the shop in 1983 after moving to Flemington in the early 1980’s. Through the years the couple have been a fixture in the town with Gary serving as a volunteer firefighter for many years.

Marie studied Art Education with a minor in Design at Edinboro State College in Erie, PA. Her education and skilled training along with Gary’s expert installation technique helped the business thrive, even in economic downturns.

With the internet explosion affecting business as well as the passing of her husband Gary in 2015, Marie is once again looking to transform the business and continue to serve her clients.

With many businesses, the new trend is toward personal in-home consulting but that is nothing new to Marie and her staff. For the past 33 years they have provided their clients with everything from window treatments and bedding to custom upholstery and furniture. Meeting several price points for every budget and meeting the ready-made, made to measure and full custom requirements of every customer has been their trademark.

‘As usual we will change with the times, following trends in design and materials, but we will always provide quality work for our clients’, says Marie.

Hunterdon County can rest easy knowing the Flemington Fabric Decorating Center will be around for years to come.
