Former Hillsborough Gymnastics Coach Took 'Inappropriate' Pics Of Girls: Police
Nicholas Adair, 24, of Lake Hiawatha, was charged with manufacturing and possessing child sexual abuse material.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A man, who had worked as a gymnastics coach in Hillsborough, was charged after police said he took "inappropriate" pictures of girls during meets and competitions, according to New Jersey State Police.
Nicholas Adair, 24, of Lake Hiawatha, was charged with manufacturing and possessing child sexual abuse material.
Adair also worked as a coach full-time at Paramount Gymnastics in Hillsborough where he coached all levels of our USA Gymnastics development program teams, Xcel teams, and JOGA (Jersey Optional Gymnastics Association) teams, in addition to their pre-competitive development teams, recreational and pre-school classes, according to his website.

Paramount Gymnastics, at 330 Roycefield Rd in Hillsborough, released a statement regarding the arrest:
"For over 30 years, families have turned to Paramount Gymnastics for our combination of fitness and fun. As an organization, we adhere to the USA Gymnastics Safe Sport Policy and take any breach of the policy seriously.
We learned about the investigation into Nicholas Adair, a recently hired employee, in March 2022 and terminated his employment immediately. As we do with all new employees, we conducted a background check prior to hiring him. We are cooperating with New Jersey State Police. Paramount has also notified all national and local governing bodies for the sport of gymnastics about the alleged misconduct.
We cannot speak in detail about specific situations involving minors or active investigations. However, we believe the alleged misconduct was an isolated incident and we remain fully committed to providing a safe environment for our students."
Authorities began investigating Adair in January for possession of child sexual abuse material after receiving referrals from other law enforcement agencies.

During the investigation, it was discovered Adair was a gymnastics coach for young girls and was capturing inappropriate pictures during practices and competitions, according to authorities.
On March 30, detectives from the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Unit searched Adair’s home and arrested him.
Adair's cell phone was found to contain multiple files of child sexual abuse material, said police.
Adair is being held in the Morris County Jail pending trial.
