Franklin Man Arrested For Having $141K Stolen Generator: Police

FRANKLIN, NJ — A Franklin man was arrested for having a stolen commercial-grade trailer generator worth $141,000, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson announced.
Aaron Taylor-Fajardo, 43 of Hunt Road, Franklin Township was charged with third-degree receiving stolen property.
On Aug. 15 at around 6:14 p.m., the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force, along with the Franklin Township Police Department saw Taylor-Fajardo in the business parking lot of 900 Easton Ave.

A large commercial trailer generator that had been freshly spray-painted black to conceal identifying serial numbers and signifiers was also seen by authorities in the lot, Robertson reported.
Detectives smelled the odor of fresh spray-paint and also saw Taylor-Fajardo had black spray-paint on his hands and fingernails, according to the report.

Several empty black spray-paint bottles were also reportedly found in a nearby wooded area.
Further investigation found that the commercial-grade trailer generator was stolen out of Paterson on an earlier date. The generator was reportedly worth $141,000 at time of original purchase, according to the report.
Taylor-Fajardo was arrested and released on his own recognizance pending a Somerset County Superior Court appearance.
