Somerset County Man Had 300 Child Sexual Abuse Videos: Prosecutor

FRANKLIN, NJ — A Somerset man was arrested after police say he has more than 300 videos depicting child sexual abuse.
Jared Kelly, 34, was charged with second-degree possession of child sexual abuse materials, announced Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald on Monday.
The arrest stems from multiple tips reporting the same person possessing videos depicting the sexual abuse and/or exploitation of a minor, said McDonald.

On March 7, detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Unit, along with members of the Franklin Township Police Department and the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office executed a Superior Court search warrant at Kelly’s home.
As a result of the search, electronic devices were seized for further forensic analysis.

Kelly was then taken into custody without incident and taken to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.
He was lodged in the Somerset County Jail and later released.
