Fred Is Hillsborough's Pet Of The Week

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Meet Fred! He has been chosen as Hillsborough's Patch's Pet Of The Week.

"This is Fred Hughes Mitchell and he turned 15 on July 30! The average life span of a basset hound is 10-12, but Freddy is still going strong! His mom adopted him from Mid-Atlantic Basset Hound Rescue when he was 4 years old, and Aug. 18 was his 11th Gotcha Day!

He is a big goofball who loves to lay in the grass and watch the world goby. His Mom, Dad, and Beagle brother Marty love him very much!"

Do you think your pet should be Hillsborough's Pet of the Week?

Participating in the Pet of the Week happenings is simple: submit your nomination by emailing alexis.tarrazi@patch.com with subject line "Hillsborough Pet Of The Week." Be sure to include a photograph or two of your pet, a paragraph about what makes him or her so great, and the town you're from.

You can choose to include your name, but you don't need to. Then just keep an eye out for a photo of your pet on the Patch!

The photo can be of a present pet, or it can be a baby picture of the adult pet you're so proud of today. All photos must be property of the submitter.
