Fuel Spill At QuickChek Gas Station Reported In Hillsborough
Somerset County Hazmat and Hillsborough Township OEM came out to help contain the spill on Thursday night.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — About 26 gallons of diesel fuel leaked onto the ground at the QuickChek gas station in Hillsborough Township prompting Hazmat to respond on Thursday night.
On May 2 at 9:14 p.m., the Hillsborough Police Department responded to the QuickChek gas station at 273 Route 206 in Hillsborough Township for the reported fuel spill.
About 26 gallons of diesel fuel leaked onto the ground because the nozzle of a pump was not properly inserted into a vehicle, said Hillsborough Police Sgt. Christopher M. Engelhardt.

Somerset County Hazmat and Hillsborough Township OEM contained the spill to the concrete area on the property. The fuel did not enter stormwater drains or seep into the ground, said Engelhardt.
There were no reported injuries.
