Fundraiser To Spruce Up Cat Space At Somerset Shelter

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — The Friends of the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter is looking to raise $4,000 to help spruce up their cat room.

"To give our kitties a pleasant space to stay and to welcome more adopters, we have a makeover planned for our cat rooms," Friends of Somerset Regional Animal Shelter said. "Fresh paint, upgraded lighting, seats for visitors to meet and greet and fall in love with our kitties, and — wait for it — catification!"

The improvements would add shelving on the wall that the cats could play on as well.

Last year 543 cats were adopted from the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter, which is more than half of all the pets the shelter adopted out.

The shelter is located at 100 Commons Way in Bridgewater and is open daily from noon to 4 p.m., with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
