Why are you running for the school board?

I am running for re-election because I want to continue to be the voice of my town, teachers and students. It would be an honor to continue to be apart of the future of Hillsborough, especially with the re-configurations of all our schools to accommodate full day Kindergarten and a new high school. I also feel that working as a Pediatric nurse I am able to help out with any programs that can help support our students with stress, anxiety, depression, bulling and drugs.

What experience do you have that would help you serving on the school board?

I believe my previous seven years on the board of education has adequately prepared me. For example: I have been apart of negotiations for both teachers and administrations. I am also intimately aware or how hard our teachers work to maintain our high scores and will continue to be a part of the process to preserve as well as improve our standards in the state.

What issues would you like to see addressed if elected?

Our schools are very safe, however; we are continuing to look at ways to make them better safer and are currently conducting a review of security at every building. If our infrastructure is not upgraded and maintained it will compromise safety and security. We also need to be certain that the learning environment is adequate for our staff and students in order to maximize achievement.
