Why are you running for the school board?
I’ve always wanted to give back to the community in which I live and as a huge supporter of public education, I feel like my experience in the field would be an asset to the Board of Education here in Hillsborough. I care deeply about students and their futures and want to ensure the quality of education that already exists here in
Hillsborough.
I want the students here to have the best opportunities for a lifetime of success. Great futures start with great schools. I feel that public schools should provide a sense of community and family along with a challenging, resourceful, cutting edge curriculum to give the students of Hillsborough the tools and skills needed to ensure a better tomorrow.
What experience do you have that would help you serving on the school board?
I want to be a helpful voice in the decision making process that may not only affect our students, but our teachers, administrators and the entire school community. Because of my teaching and coaching experiences, I have seen first hand, how schools work.
School and community go hand in hand and when the two can successfully get along, you have a school system that produces positive results for a bright future.
What issues would you like to see addressed if elected?
As a board member, I want to ensure that the schools are keeping up with the times and the community tax dollars are being used to better our students’ learning experiences by providing them with the best resources possible. These resources being, teachers, coaches, staff members, administration, school grounds, food services and new and improved programs, informative parent and community sessions and events to give our students here in Hillsborough the best, well-rounded education so they can be respectful, intelligent leaders and continue to make our community a safe, successful, and fantastic place to live.
