Hearings On 2 Warehouses Proposed In Hillsborough To Continue In December

The year-long hearings on Homestead Road LLC's proposal to build warehouses totaling more than 500,000 square feet will continue.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Discussions on the proposed application to build two warehouses totaling more than 500,000 square feet on Homestead Road in Hillsborough will continue into December.

The application brought by Homestead LLC was heard by the Hillsborough Planning Board last week but testimony was unable to be completed.

During the roughly three-hour meeting on Sept. 14, objectors were able to question Homestead's architect Larry Valenza of M&H Architects.

Traffic engineer Gary Dean also testified, however, cross-examination of Dean was unable to begin due to the late hour of the meeting.

The Planning Board agreed to continue the meeting on Dec. 14, but it is unlikely a final vote will be made then and the application will most likely run into the new year.

The hearing over this application has been ongoing for more than one year.

The applicant Homestead Road, LLC is looking to develop Block 200.10, Lots 32 & 33 – 203 Homestead Road and 189 Homestead Road.

Homestead Road, LLC is seeking to construct two warehouses. One warehouse would be 168,304 square feet warehouse and a second warehouse of 368,995 square feet.

The 88.45 tract is currently undeveloped with farmland and the Royce Brook traveling through the tract. It is located off Homestead Road and Route 206 Bypass.
