Here's How Much Hillsborough Teachers Are Paid

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — The state recently released information on how much schools are paying their teachers in the state. See where Hillsborough stacks up:

Hillsborough School District teachers are the third highest paid in Somerset County and 91st highest in the state, according to information released by the state for the 2019-20 school year.

The school district pays teachers a median salary of $76,215, which is 1.82 percent more than last year where teachers made $74,855 on average.

Hillsborough teachers also make more than the state median of $68,985, a 1.6 percent increase over last year. Overall, 232 school districts pay more than the state median.

The released information is part of the state Department of Education's Taxpayer's Guide to Education Spending that was just released, showing the median salary in every New Jersey school district and charter school.

Here is the list of Somerset County school districts and charter schools, and their 2019 median teacher salaries, from highest to lowest (with the state ranking). The percentage shows the change from the previous year:
