Hillsborough Appoints New Mayor For 2017
The Hillsborough Township Committee selected Carl Suraci as Mayor and Gloria McCauley as Deputy Mayor for 2017.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — The Hillsborough Township Committee selected Carl Suraci as Mayor and Gloria McCauley as Deputy Mayor for 2017, at the annual reorganization meeting Tuesday evening.
Suraci will replace Frank DelCore as Mayor. DelCore was re-elected in November and was sworn in for a fourth three-year term on the Township Committee. He will now serve as Committeman.
Suraci and his family have lived in Hillsborough since 1994. He has served the township since 2003. He served as Deputy Mayor in 2005 and 2011, Mayor in 2006 and 2012 as well as on the Planning Board in 2004. Prior to his election, he served on the Recreation Commission.

Furthermore, during his tenure on the Committee, Suraci previously served as liaison to many boards and functional areas including the Board of Adjustment, Credit Card Advisory, Economic & Business Development, Emergency Management, Historic Preservation, Library, Personnel, Planning Board, Police, Recreation Commission, Rescue Squad and Sign Review Committee.
For 2017, Suraci plans to focus on continued fiscal prudence in managing the Township’s finances while monitoring the affordable housing requirements mandated by the State and looking forward to officially opening the Mountain View Park Complex.
“It is my honor to be given the opportunity to serve as Mayor for 2017,” stated newly selected Mayor Suraci in a release.

Deputy Mayor Gloria McCauley was also sworn in by Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli.
